Rule of Thirds

We continued focusing on a corner of the imaginary grid we visualize while taking the photo. I chose to make this series a very literal representation of the "rule of thirds" technique. I found objects that were not surrounded by much, but stood out and could directly show the part of the grid that I chose.

  1. I like the idea for these pictures. They work really well together in a series. However, the black one with the light could be sectioned off better. But besides that, I really like your pictures.

  3. This works great as a series!!! You edited them very well, so all of them have this unique, mysterious shadow that blend perfectly. Your 3rd photograph of the clock or the last one were most successful because they represent the rule of thirds perfectly if you measure them sideways. I think the light and the rectangular window could have showed the concept better if you took them from a further distance so there is more negative space around them to really follow the measurements.

From your other rule of third series I, you placed the bird expertly placed at one of the four "tic-tac-toe" markers. It reminds me of the boat photograph from the website.

  4. jessica i really like these photos, my favorite one is by far the one with the clock, it really pops out of the page. I find it interesting how the last one looks, i like the bricks in it, it gives it a certian kind of depth

  5. I like how you used a lot of circular objects in your photos, it creates a cool effect. I also like the photo with the bricks. I like the photo with the bricks because of the depth involved as well as the pattern of the bricks.

  6. I really liked your pictures. I think your Rule of Thirds project is really interesting and I like the use of all the circular objects. A lot of people took pictures of the landscape but your take on rule of thirds was really nice. My favorite picture is the third one. Great job
