Halloween

This week our project was to incorporate halloween into our photographs. We used masks, cloaks, hands, and anything else we could find to enhance the halloween spirit. We thought about what scared us as kids and which monsters and villains disturbed us the most as a starting point. After playing around with lighting and setting, we uploaded our pictures to picnik's website. They have a new set of halloween effects that we played with. A lot of these effects helped us to better see the design process of advertisements on things like posters.

  1. I love how the first picture you can kind of tell what the texture feels like just from the look of the mask; it has a shiny coating almost... The detail in the close up of the skull is amazing, you really used all the effects had to offer. The eye in the skull is hidden, but I can see some reflection and that really completes the photo. The little splash of color on your last picture is great. I love your artistic style!

  2. ALL of these photos are incredible!! they each have a style and voice of their own which is independent of the others. It looks like you really got comfortable and into it. I really love the fuzzy photo of the werewolf with the bright green eyes. The image is very smoky or dreamy. Great job!

  3. I really like how you changed the eyes on allot of your pictures. Its also really cool how you used shadows and the gostly effects on picnik. The last picture looks like something out of a comic book or cartoon and i like how you used blood on the hand.

  4. I really like your picture of the skull (second to last picture) It looks like it should be on a post card. Soo cool! The shadows and the effects you used on the skull make it look surreal and very spooky. It also adds a lot of texture to the skull. Great job!
