City Scapes

We were challenged to walk around the neighborhood by Drew and find specific shapes. This project was to explore and really notice all the different shapes on buildings that we usually miss. Our main focus was to finding circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles. We also took shots with mixed shapes. In these photographs we played with contrast and angles. We had to figure out how to capture a simple shape and make it stand out from the distractions in the background.

  2. I really like how different all your pictures are, you can tell they weren't all taken from the same building. Your sideways angles are also really working well. My favorite is the triangle picture of the roof of a house because of the shape within the triangle, it makes it look like a sunset. Your combo shots were also very successful. All the pictures in this series really seems to fit in well with each other. My only suggestion might be experimenting with rotation, it would spice up the photos even more.

  3. I liked how you found really cool ways to put allot of shapes into your photos. I liked the picture with the cone the most, its a good way to add a triangle into your photos. The last photo is also cool, because you zoomed in the fence looks like a heart almost, which is a good way to use a close up.

  4. I really liked your photo of the rocks and the tree. The shape contrasts were really good. Although both the rocks and the tree trunk are round, they are different types of round shapes. The tree trunk is a cylinder shape and three dimensional, while the rocks are a two dimensional and not perfect circle shapes.Great photos!
